Here is the short timeline. Pramp built its name on a simple trade: you interview a stranger, the stranger interviews you, and nobody pays anything. Exponent, the interview prep company behind tryexponent.com, acquired Pramp, and in July 2024 session hosting moved off pramp.com. The website still loads and the brand still exists, but starting a new practice session takes you to Exponent Practice. Existing Pramp accounts can be linked to Exponent to keep practicing there.
Two things changed in practice: where sessions run, and how many are free. The original unlimited free swaps are gone; Exponent Practice includes a limited number of free peer sessions per month. The peer format itself, coding, system design, behavioral, and product management tracks included, carried over.
